I don’t know about you but around Christmas, I’m always looking for different things to give as gifts – especially when it comes to food gifts. If you are gluten and dairy-free or you know someone who is, then check out this post of eight really delicious and simple homemade food gifts that are both gluten and dairy-free.
Around the holidays, one of my favorite things to receive are homemade treats from people (assuming they are safe on a gluten and dairy-free diet).
I love to make them too, because even though not everyone I know avoids both gluten and dairy, sometimes its nice to know if there are leftovers, that I’ll be able to actually eat them.
I love making food gifts for the holidays, because they don’t clutter up the house, they show how much I care when I put time and effort into something, and people always love to get treats.
Another bonus is that they’re more inexpensive than other gifts I might otherwise buy. Homemade treats are just a nice little way to tell someone you care about them, without filling their houses. You can fill their bellies instead!
When you’re on a specific diet or know someone who is, you know that getting homemade treats can be wonderful but also sad if they aren’t made using ingredients that are safe for the diet you’re on.
This is the reason I’ve put this post together – whether you’re reading this as a person who is on a gluten and dairy-free diet or love someone who is, this list will inspire you to make some delicious treats that are perfect for holiday gifting.
I hope that this post will inspire and encourage you to make some of these homemade treat gifts for your friends and family. I also hope that it shows you that even on a limited diet, you can still enjoy your favorite treats and create wonderful homemade gifts for people you care about.

In this list, you’ll find homemade nutella (chocolate hazelnut spread), hot chocolate mix, spritz cookies, Chex mix, granola, and even some very festive pumpkin pie spice nuts. All these recipes are both gluten-free and dairy-free.
I made sure that all ingredients have been swapped out for gluten-free or dairy-free versions – and all these recipes are my own, so they’ve been taste tested and approved by my family.
As you make your way through this list, you can click through to each of the links and find the specific recipes for each of the ideas listed.
Now when it comes to creating homemade food gifts, presentation matters. For each of the homemade food gift ideas below, I’ve added a couple of ideas for each on how I would wrap it up to gift it. Sometimes making things look pretty is just part of the gift!
For many of these ideas, I’d simply share them in glass mason jars, cellophane bags, or in a cookie tin. You can buy all of these inexpensively at Target, Amazon, or even most grocery stores around the holiday season.
You can get creative with red or Christmas-inspired ribbons to tie around jars or bags. I’ve even found some great simple containers at the dollar store that are inexpensive and look great for gifting.
All of these are easy ideas for how to make your homemade treats look even better when you gift them.
I hope you enjoy this list of gluten and dairy-free food gift ideas. Scroll through the list below, check out how to gift them, and click through for the recipes. Your friends and family will love these – but I won’t tell if you just make them for yourself!
