I’ve owned my Instant Pot for about 8 months now, and I can tell you that I’ve fallen in love. I’ve used it for making gluten-free and dairy-free meals at least once (if not twice or three times) a week since I got it last Christmas.
I have the Instant Pot Duo 6-quart, but they come in different sizes and with different capabilities, lids, and fun accessories for making different recipes.
It’s quickly become a staple kitchen appliance in our house – and I love the versatility of it!
You can make almost anything under the sun with this thing: soups, chilis, chicken (even from frozen!), brisket, taco filling, one-pot meals, breakfast recipes, dessert recipes, and even rice or quinoa. The list is endless… But I won’t bore you.
The point is that I’ve fallen in love with my Instant Pot so much that I haven’t touched my slow cooker once since owning it. I’ve even convinced two of my family members to buy one, because of all the things you can do with it!
My sister being one of them, who was living out of a hotel for a few weeks with no access to a kitchen after a house fire, was picking my brain about them – and I talked her into how great they were.
It was one of her first purchases so she could still cook and not have to eat out in the hotel every night.
I should mention is how EASY the Instant Pot is too. The main reason I added it to my Christmas list last holiday was because I was constantly forgetting to turn my crockpot on, not plugging it in, forgetting to turn it off, or simply leaving food on the counter to cool down – and forgetting it overnight…
Please tell me I’m not the only one who does this!
The great thing about the Instant Pot is that it has a digital interface, so you KNOW when it’s on, off, and how long it’s been sitting on ‘warm’ after your recipe is complete. It takes the ‘duh’ moments out of using a kitchen appliance and forgetting about it.

If you can’t tell already, there are probably hundreds of ways to use your Instant Pot. I use mine regularly – probably more so than even my stovetop these days.
It’s more than just a pressure cooker (which is why I didn’t buy one for so long) – and can save you even more space on your counter by replacing multiple other one-task small appliances like your slow cooker, rice cooker, pressure cooker, or yogurt maker.
