This is a curated list of everything you’ll need to get started with this diet or maintain it for the long-term.
I have tested every recommendation on this page and put thought and intention behind all of blog posts, products, and services I’m sharing here.
Many of the resources I’ll share with you here are how I’ve come to a gluten-free dairy-free diet and been able to stick with it for 8 years now.
Before sharing these awesome resources I know and trust, here’s an important disclosure:

Some of the links below are affiliate links, which means that if you make a purchase after clicking on them, I will earn a commission. This commission comes at no additional cost to you. Understand that I have experience with all of these companies, and I recommend them because they have proven to be helpful and useful to me on my health journey, not because of the small commissions I make if you decide to buy something. Please do not spend any money on these products unless you feel you need them or that they will help you achieve your goals.
Determining Your Food Intolerances and Food Sensitivities
EverlyWell Food Sensitivity Test Kit
The EverlyWell Food Sensitivity Test Kit measures your body’s IgG response (intolerance) to 96 foods to help you determine which foods you may feel best removing from your diet.
If you’re unsure if you’re intolerant or sensitive to gluten or dairy, or if you’ve eliminated these foods already and feel like you may have other sensitivities, check out this test kit.
It’s super simple, you can do it at home (no need to even visit a doctor’s office), and all you need is a blood spot sample – which is easy even for the most squeamish people.
Check out the demo video I made on how to do the EverlyWell food sensitivity test kit here.

Food Journal to track symptoms and identify potential intolerances
If you’re unclear if you have food intolerances or food sensitivities and you’re not a fan of the idea of a food sensitivity testing kit, you might choose to conduct a self-guided elimination diet.
In this case, I highly recommend getting yourself set up with a food journal that you can stick with. Health Journal: Discover Food Intolerances and Allergies: (A Food Diary that Tracks your Triggers and Symptoms) is a great option, because it’s thorough and easy to take with you on the go while you’re determining if gluten or dairy (or other foods) are triggers for you.

For a free printable way to track potential food intolerance symptoms, you might consider downloading this food journal template that I’ve created for this community.

The Ultimate Holistic Health Coach Guide
I attended the Health Coach Training Program through the Institute for Integrative Nutrition in 2012, and received my health coach certification in 2013. I fell in love with this program, not only because I learned how to help others on their health journeys and learn more about their food intolerances, but because of how it helped shape my own health story.
I learned so much about myself, what foods are good for me and those that just don’t work for me, how much exercise I need in order to feel my best, and how to manage my stress in healthy ways. There are a million great things about IIN, like pursuing a new career and being able to help people on a daily basis, but the biggest transformation was my own.
I’m always happy to share my story about the Institute for Integrative Nutrition with anyone who wants to hear it. Check out my Ultimate Holistic Health Coach Guide for more info or email me personally.
Institute for Integrative Nutrition
I attended the Institute for Integrative Nutrition in 2012 and 2013 and became a certified holistic health coach. During my time at IIN, I learned not only how to help others on their own journeys to becoming the healthiest version of themselves, but I discovered how I feel my very best – and that knowledge has been invaluable.
While there are other health coaching programs out there, I loved and highly recommend the Institute for Integrative Nutrition for its comprehensive training in health theory and business coaching. In just 6 months time, you can start practicing your own coaching and helping transform other people’s lives through leading through example. Have questions? Don’t be shy in reaching out!
